Alok has now been playing Dhol for the past 15 years. His love for music started early at the age of 5 years. Dhol was his first musical instrument but his passion for music and culture drew him to learning an array of different instruments such as Dholak, Tablas, Drum, and Piano.

Dhol Motion by Alok 

Alok has taken part in various music events and he has also won the International music competition - Indian classical and fusion jugalbandi, Australia in 2008.

Alok is well-known for his Desi beats and Fusion beats on Dhol.  Alok has played in many events such as corporate, stage performances; live band, private functions, and his own group called “Dhol Motion by Alok”. Alok has played and performed with many well known music composers, DJ’s, Singers.

Rupi is widely known throughout Australia for his dhol skills and ability to make the crowd dance non-stop to his ground shaking dhol beats.

Rupi has played and toured with some of the biggest dj’s in the bhangra industry such as RDB, Zeus, Sona Family, Lehmber, Jazzy B, Bally Sagoo, PMC, Jay Dhabi, Notorious Jatt, Tigerstyle and Aman Hayer just to mention a few.

Rupi started his own dhol group called Platinum Dholis which has toured all eastern Australia as well as internationally Canada, UK, New Zealand and Fiji.

He has also played on radio, TV and has done studio recording for Oorjanights and DMP.
