Music is in my blood. Ever since I was a little kid I grew up around music, and I come from a musically talented family. My grandfather was a famous music director in the Indian film industry, my father was a musician/singer, and almost all of my family has some sort of musical talent. Therefore, growing up around famous artists and people in my family with a strong passion for music inspired me to sing and explore my own vocal talents. From performing for school events as a young kid, to then making my mark on various university events/parties in Sydney as a singer & MC, I have taken every opportunity to showcase my talent both locally and overseas, and continue to do so. I enjoy a variety of music and can adapt to various styles/genres. My singing styles include: R&B/Soul, Rap/Hip-hop, and also Hindi / Bollywood / Bhangra. Depending on the occasion, I can perform both as a Singer or MC for various events/parties/nightclubs. Each Soul has its unique form of expression. This is the sound of my soul, the music of my mind, and the rhythm of my heart. I was born in Melbourne and we moved to Brisbane while I was young and have been living here since. I am currently studying a professional accounting degree at the Queensland University of Technology. I have many hobbies and interests I started playing basketball at a young age for school and a club; Singing is my passion. I have been singing ever since I could talk! I have participated in my school’s junior, intermediate and senior choirs, I love dancing and have performed here in various cultural events. In May 2008 I went for the ‘Australian Idol’ audition and received very good feedback from the judges which has led me to my solo performances publicly. I have performed at a few gigs here in Brisbane and I enjoy singing both English and Bollywood songs. In the near future I would love to go overseas and audition for Indian Idol and show my English cross with Bollywood talent. Alok has now been playing Dhol for the past 15 years.
